Geriatric Massage Geriatric massage, with its focus on the elderly, addresses the psychological and physiological aspects of aging as well as its associated diseases. Therapists use a variety of techniques suited to the needs of the individual. Geriatric massage is indicated for preventative wellness care in aging. Geriatric massage relaxes muscles, connective tissues, and nerves, increases circulation and flexibility, relieves arthritis pain and stiffness. It is a gentle and effective way to improve the spirit and overall health. Depending on individual tolerance, a thirty-minute to one-hour massage includes the legs and feet, arms and hands, back and shoulders, and can be done fully clothed.
